Tutoring is available year-round, including during the summer. We believe that children who are behind in reading cannot afford extended breaks, as it can slow their progress. Summer is a crucial time to maintain momentum and prevent the ‘summer slide,’ where students can lose up to 30% of the skills they gained during the school year. Our 45-minute sessions provide a manageable and effective way to continue progress and close the reading gap.
Is online tutoring as effective as in-person tutoring?
Absolutely. While many parents have concerns about virtual learning due to past experiences, online tutoring with us is highly effective. Our lessons are interactive and fast-paced, keeping students engaged as they read, spell, write, play games, and complete phonics drills—all within 45 minutes. Yes, you can reschedule lessons with at least 24 hours’ notice.
We also understand that emergencies happen, so we allow one sick or emergency cancellation per quarter without requiring advance notice.
Our tutors dedicate their time to provide your child with the best possible support, and a clear cancellation policy helps ensure consistency and commitment to the schedule—which ultimately benefits your child’s progress the most.
Do you offer lessons on weekends or evenings?
We offer tutoring Monday through Thursday, with flexible time slots based on your schedule and our availability. When you sign up, your selected time and frequency will be reserved for you throughout your tutoring journey.
For missed lessons, we offer one weekend per month dedicated to makeups. You’ll receive a notification 48 hours in advance and can sign up for a session during that weekend. If you don’t schedule a makeup before the next month, the opportunity will expire.
Is there a long-term commitment, or can I adjust or cancel at any time?
There are no long-term commitments, and you can adjust or cancel at any time. However, we do not offer refunds for prepaid lessons, so it’s best to plan cancellations near the end of a paid period to avoid losing any sessions.
You can easily adjust the number of days per week, but if you give up a day, that time slot may be filled by another student and may not be available again. Your selected time slot generally stays consistent, as our tutors follow a structured schedule with lessons starting on the hour.
